As aggressive and energetic as it is tender and romantic, Dead Ringer is a brutally realistic love song about finding the right person at the wrong time. Combining angular midwest-emo guitar lines and a timeless progression reminiscent of old jazz standards, the soundscape of the song is as fierce as it is sweet and nostalgic, perfectly complimenting the lyrics of forlorn, longing, and self-conflict.
